The 1859 Nonington tithe map was drawn from an actual survey and is therefore very accurate. It’s worth noting that the names of fields and woods often changed in the twenty years between the maps, and are different to the present, which can make research very confusing. The following are photographs of parts of the actual tithe map taken by the late Aubrey Sutton.

The table below is a partial and incomplete record of the tithe allocations, it mainly records property on the Fredville estate. The reference number shown on the map corresponds to the details in the table and records the name, the owner and the occupier of the property and its usage and acreage .
